EVOLUTION HISTORY BACKGROUND

Simon Mark Wachon 5th Dan, the founder of Evolution Martial Arts back in 2002. Simon has now moved on  to pastures new, setting up home in Canada, although still keeps his finger on the pulse of evolution, and returns for senior gradings.

On January 27th 2002, “Evolution Tae kwon-Do” was founded by Mr Simon Wachon 5th Dan in order to further advance training, reclaim some of the lost and forgotten techniques, to freely express and the Art of “Tae Kwon-Do” and to try to build an association of students without prejudices or too many politics.

The other founding Instructors of  “Evolution” were Mr Christopher Smith 3rd Dan, Mr Steven Reynolds 3rd Dan, Mr Francis Miller 3rd Dan who suggested “Evolution’s name, Mr Dean Glass 2nd Dan, Mr Sean Clarke 2nd Dan, Mr Gareth Price 2nd Dan and Mr Lewis Dunn 2nd Dan.

Continuing on from this it was decided that Evolution Tae Kwon -Do would offer training in other disciplines and draw knowledge from other Martial Arts for further personal development, Evolution Martial Arts was born. We have qualified Kickboxing instructors and their classes are proving very popular.

Evolution will continue to develop and grow long into the future, with the support of our instructors, students, friends and family which has been invaluable in getting us to where we are now.

Credit also goes to “Grandmaster Hee Il Cho 9th Dan” and “Master Phillip Ameris” for being a large  influence on the way “Evolution Tae Kwon-Do” is training and to Master Michael Dew 6th Dan for helping Tae Kwon-Do during the 1980‘s to grow in the South West of England.
