Martial Arts, Meditation, and, Yoga

Traditional martial arts are based in eastern philosophies. The natural energy of the universe is known as Qi, or Ki. Martial arts movements interact with the natural universal energy so that one becomes in tune with the universe and oneself. Many people practice meditation and yoga to balance the Qi/Ki and bring harmony to themselves and their lives.
Meditation, yoga, Qi gung/Chi gung, Tai Chi, while part of the martial arts practice, are also considered by many to be passive and peaceful methods to connect with ones inner self. This, in turn, can bring spiritual awareness and awakening. While some of the most strident martial arts practitioners do not think some of these practices are actually true martial arts, most will acknowledge that finding a sense of inner peace and calm is necessary to still the self and focus.
There is a link between ones inner peace, universal energy, and the enlightenment that is attained by martial arts masters.
