An air quality alert due to a large marsh fire in eastern New Orleans has resulted in cancellation of after school activities by St Charles Parish Public Schools. The air quality alert was issued by Department of Environmental Quality. Spokesperson for St Charles Rochelle Cancienne Touchard said that all the after school activities have been cancelled. Meanwhile other schools also took steps by cancelling outdoor activities. The Harry Hurst Middle School cancelled football practice, but after school indoor activities such as cheerleading and volleyball were continued. Hahnville High School announced that cross country and wrestling activities have been cancelled but dance, cheerleading and swim team practice would continue being held. Schools where no activities were cancelled said that they would be monitored closely with precautions being taken.

There were many ideas for kids to do this summer. Some Ideas for kids are mentioned before they head back to school next week.
One of the fun ideas for kids is to hike to the top of Occidental College for a picnic. A group of friends, with sandwiches, cookies and a thermos full of mocktail would be a great way to end the summer vacation. Do not forget to include a warm blanket, a jacket and a flashlight before you head for the hills. This hike offers a full view of Eagle Rock and Mount Washington and is fairly easy to do.
Out of some ideas for kids a great one is to take a road trip to the beach like the Hermosa Beach or the Manhattan Beach which have plenty of parking facility. Take a road map, plenty of water and lots of sandwiches and good music.
Some ideas for kids to end this summer vacation is to do charity by donating books you are not reading anymore, to libraries like the Eagle Rock Library. Further still splurge on a good bookshelf and organize your little library.

Touch Pet Dogs 2, Stack the States and More cookies are fun games for kids that can enable them to have fun and learn at the same time. Glow Hockey 2 HD Free is a fun game where the kids can have fun playing air hockey. Also, Interactive Alphabet ABC Flash Cards is a great app for children.
